Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. As a child, she was exposed to many traditional music as well as old boleros. In addition, she was a fan of traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana loves tangos and opera, along with the dramatic shows that she attends. At the age 16, she started singing and studying music with her mother. Flavio, a Mexican famous tenor, started to give her more intense training in singing. She studied in Guadalajara at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara as well as in Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. In Guadalajara along with Mexico City, she was an active member of numerous opera choruses and chamber ensembles. Following her move to the United States, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then in 2002, she made her way to southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. Alongside being an active performer as well as an instructor the passion for music and art keeps her active in a variety of different projects. Ana was also an active member of the Community Chorus of Redlands as in addition to The Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, through her sharing her love of Latin American traditional songs, that she can instill a passion, particularly among the younger generation, for keeping this music vibrant.
