Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a well-known Indian actor, known for her role in the movies Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Hain Kun..! In the late 80s, she began her acting career, and was famous for her role as Tezaab, in which she starred alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapooor. In the next film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared as well. When she was a kid her Mumbai-born dancer started learning at an early stage. When she was young began acting, but had a difficult time as a majority of her movies were unsuccessful. However, she eventually achieved success and was one of the most prominent actresses within the Indian film business. After her marriage, she took a pause from her acting career. The actress returned in later years. More recently she played an important role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the struggle of women in India. Dixit has been nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honour in India. She also has a reputation as a social activist.
